Jarl Poppy

Jarl Mohn (born December 26, 1951 in Doylestown , Pennsylvania ) is an American journalist and media entrepreneur. From 2014 to 2019 he was CEO of the US public radio network, National Public Radio (NPR).

Life

Mohn studied mathematics and philosophy at Temple University . Before he became head of the NPR, he held various positions at radio stations for over 20 years. a. worked at WNBC in New York . He also worked as a media businessman and owned various radio stations and the television station E! Entertainment television . He was President and Manager of MTV and VH1 .

Mohn was a member of the Board of Trustees of Southern California Public Radio (SCPR) for more than ten years and also chaired the body from time to time. Since 2008 he has been on the board of directors of Scripps Networks Interactive . In July 2014, he took over the position of CEO at NPR. He held this until 2019, but since his resignation he has continued to work there as president emeritus .

He and his wife founded The Mohn Family Foundation in 2000.
