Jaroslav Lev von Rosental und Blatna (Czech Jaroslav Lev z Rožmitála az Blatné ) (* around 1425 , † 1480 ) was a Bohemian nobleman from the Lev von Rosental family .

Life

In addition to the family castle in Rosental , he also held Blatná Castle . From 1465 to 1467 he undertook a diplomatic trip through Europe on behalf of his brother-in-law, the Bohemian King George of Podebrady . He led a delegation of 40 Catholic nobles and knights with 52 horses. He not only made a name for himself at tournaments , but also tried to restore the good reputation of Bohemia , damaged by the Hussite Wars , and to put the country and the regent in a good light. The company traveled to Germany, Belgium, England, France, Spain, Portugal and ended up in Venice. After the visit of Emperor Friedrich in Styria, she returned to Bohemia. The trip was crowned with success. After his return, Lev von Rosental was appointed Supreme Court Master of the Bohemian Kingdom for his services, and from 1467 to 1469 he was also captain of the Pisek district .

The delegation was also accompanied by the patrician Gabriel Tetzl von Grafenberg, who later described the trip in his chronicle. His companion, the knight Václav Šašek z Bířkova , also left memoirs .

Although a Catholic, Lev held up to the king. He was buried in plates. His wife came from the Bezdružický family of Kolowrat . After his death his name was presented to the predicate of Rosental.
