Jaroslav Mostecký

Jaroslav Mostecký (born September 29, 1963 in Zábřeh na Moravě ) is a Czech writer of science fiction and fantasy literature .

Life

Mostecky, married for the second time, lives and works as a technician in Šumperk . He is interested in Czech history, especially the Přemyslid period , tramping and, at the beginning, palaeontology and numismatics .

Mostecky also worked as a leader of literary circles, especially in schools. From 1980 to 1982 he led a sci-fi study group at the middle school, from 1987 to 1992 he was involved in the sci-fi club Futurum and then founded his sci-fi club Jeff Spender .

Works

He has been publishing short stories since the early 1990s and has received numerous awards over time. He later began writing novels that were well received by the readership.

His stories are characterized by action-packed events, in cruel surroundings and rousing events. Typical are the unexpected twists and turns in the life of the heroes and their tragic end. His philosophical and ideological considerations as well as, especially in his later works, his anti-religious attitude are characteristic. Some critics also describe the books as misogynistic.
