Jason Brown (* 1969 in Derry , Northern Ireland ) is a British musician and college teacher.

Life

Jason Paul Brown was born in Northern Ireland. In 1988 he moved to Manchester to study . There he founded the indie band This Gigantic World a year later and played guitar there until the band split up in 1995. This Gigantic World released a total of three vinyl records.

Since 1996 he has been teaching at Manchester City College, majoring in popular music.

In 2001 he joined The Lovers as a guitarist, the band of Inspiral Carpets singer Tom Hingley , who previously sang and played guitar with Too Much Texas . Kelly Wood on keyboards, Steve Hanley on bass and Paul Hanley on drums play for the Lovers . Both Hanley brothers were long-time members of the English cult group The Fall and then played together again in the band ARK founded by Steve Hanley . The Lovers released the vinyl single "Yeah" in 2003 , a very punk-oriented song. In 2004 the debut album "ABBA Are The Enemy" was released , the successor "Highlights" was released in March 2008.

In 2006 Jason Brown wrote the music for a World Cup song as part of the band project "The Reclaimers". Lovers bandmate Steve Hanley and his son Paul also took part in this project. The latter already has his own band, he plays drums in Sacred.

Jason Brown is also active as a house musician. So he supports z. B. Mettle Music on studio recordings of their albums ( "The HoneyComb Lounge" and "Moodswing" ) and also live at performances.
