Jason John Nassau

Jason John Nassau (* 1893 in Izmir , † 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio ) was an American astronomer .

He received his PhD from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. in 1920. in Mathematics on Some Theorems in Alternants . He then took a position as assistant professor in astronomy at the Case Institute of Technology . A full chair for astronomy was established for him at the university, where he taught from 1924 until his retirement in 1959. During this period, he was also director of the Warner and Swasey Observatory at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1953 Nassau was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences . A moon crater is named after him.

Jason John Nassau was married and had two sons.
