Jason MacIntyre

Jason MacIntyre (born September 20, 1973 in Lochgilphead , Argyll , Scotland , † January 15, 2008 in Fort William , Scotland) was a British cyclist .

MacIntyre had lived in Fort William since he was ten. There he attended Lochaber High School . He was trained as a printer and lithographer at Nevis Print .

It was only at the age of 18 that he began cycling, in which he quickly achieved his first successes. At the age of 23, MacIntyre won the Tour of the North in Ireland. After a three-year hiatus, he made a comeback in 2000 and has since won at least one Scottish championship title in a wide variety of team and individual disciplines. In 2002 he was part of the Scottish team at the Commonwealth Games . In total, MacIntyre won 13 Scottish and three British championship titles.

In 2006 he became British champion in the individual time trial . In 2006 and 2007 he won the RTTC national championships over 25 miles and in 2007 he improved Graeme Obree's Scottish time trial record over ten miles. MacIntyre last drove for the Scottish The Edge Racing Team .

MacIntyre died on January 15, 2008 after a traffic accident during a training drive. He was married and has two daughters (* 1999).
