Jaspar Schmidt

Jaspar Schmidt , completely Jaspar Carl Ludwig Schmidt (born April 13, 1828 in Lübz , † February 21, 1895 in Wittenburg ), was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Jaspar Schmidt came from a large family of pastors and lawyers from Mecklenburg and was the sixth son of the pastor and Praepositus Jakob Christian Friedrich Schmidt. He attended the Gymnasium Fridericianum Schwerin and studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig and from April 1850 at the University of Rostock .

In 1853 he entered the service of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and became an auditor at Toitenwinkel . In 1855 he was appointed mayor and city judge in Brüel . In the following year he became church visitation secretary and in 1874 Mecklenburg-Strelitz government councilor in Neustrelitz .

In 1877 he returned to Mecklenburg-Schwerin as a legal senior church councilor in the upper church council in Schwerin . In 1879 he went to the Domanialamt Wittenburg-Walsmühlen- Zarrentin as the first civil servant with the character of a drosten . He was a member of the board of trustees of the Zarrentin agricultural school and was chairman of the road inspection authority in the Wittenburg district.

Jaspar Schmidt was married to his cousin Luise Schmidt (* 1825 in Altkalen ), a daughter of the Joachim Schmidt church council. His son of the same name (1860–1907) also went into the Mecklenburg administrative service and became governor in goods. The Oberkirchenrat Carl Schmidt was his nephew.
