Carl Schmidt (Oberkirchenrat)
Friedrich Carl August Schmidt (born September 23, 1848 in Schwerin , † September 23, 1912 in Bad Blankenburg ) was a German church lawyer.
Life
Carl Schmidt came from a widespread Mecklenburg pastors and lawyers family and was a son of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Higher Appeal Judge Carl (Adolf Ludwig Georg) Schmidt (1814–1871). The Drost and brief senior church councilor Jaspar Schmidt was his uncle. He studied law . In 1872 he entered the service of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and became an auditor at the Rostock law firm. In 1875 he passed his judge's exam and became an official in Bützow and in 1877 in Doberan . In 1878 he came to the Schwerin Law Office as a legal assistant. In 1879 he was appointed regional judge in Güstrow and in 1883 moved to Rostock in the same capacity .
In 1888 he became a member of the Grand Ducal Consistory in Rostock as a consistorial councilor. In 1898 he was appointed senior church councilor in Schwerin. In 1908 he received the title of Privy Councilor, together with the clerical senior church councilor Ernst Haack . Since its opening in 1901, he has taught canon law at the Schwerin seminary .
Since 1895 he was married to Ottilie Caroline Elisabeth Auguste (1862–1945), b. from the ceiling , a daughter of the major general Eberhard von der ceiling . Carl Schmidt died on his 64th birthday while in a sanatorium.
