Javad Tabatabai

Javad Tabatabai (* 1945 in Tabriz ) is an Iranian philosopher and author.

Live and act

Tabatabai received his PhD in Political Philosophy from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with a dissertation on Hegel . He was a guest fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin and at Syracuse University . He has published numerous books on the history of political ideas in Europe and Iran.

Tabatabai is emeritus and vice dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Tehran .

In 1995 he was made Knight of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques .
