Javi Guerrero , whose full name is Francisco Javier García Guerrero (born October 22, 1976 in Madrid ), is a former Spanish soccer player who played for Racing Santander and Recreativo Huelva in the Spanish Primera División . He was used as a striker.

Player career

Javi Guerrero began his career with Spanish record champions Real Madrid . In the 1995/1996 season he played for Real's C team in Segunda División B , then he was accepted into the B team Real Madrid Castilla . For the 1997/1998 season he was loaned to FC Terrassa and Real Jaén . For the 1998/99 season he returned to Real Madrid Castilla, which was now relegated to the 3rd division. However, after he had not scored in the entire season, he left the club.

Professional player

In the summer of 1999 Javi Guerrero went to the Spanish second division club Albacete Balompié , where he made his breakthrough in professional football. With his 20 goals in 66 games, he was able to draw attention to Atlético Madrid , which also played in the second division at this time. After his commitment, he contributed in the 2001/02 season with ten goals in 29 games to the rise of the club in the Primera División. The following year Javi Guerrero went to first division club Racing Santander , for whom he played 104 games and scored 34 goals over the next three years.

The last few years

In the summer of 2005 Javi Guerrero was committed by the first division promoted Celta Vigo . However, after he had not scored a goal in 19 games, the Galicians loaned him to Recreativo Huelva in 2006 and sold him to this club a year later. At Recreativo Huelva, Javi Guerrero established himself as a top performer. From 2009 he played for UD Las Palmas . In 2013 he ended his career as a footballer despite remaining one-year contract. He then began working as a match observer (scout) for the club.
