Javier Busto Sagrado (born November 13, 1949 in Hondarribia , Basque Country , Spain ) is a Spanish composer and choir director .

life and work

Busto studied medicine at the University of Valladolid . He trained himself in music before he was trained in choral conducting by Erwin List. In 1995 he founded Kanta Cantemus Korua , a choir of teenage young women. In 1978 he founded the Eskifaia Korua in Hondarribia.

Busto presented his compositions at the Fourth World Symposium for Choral Music in Sydney in 1996 and was guest conductor at the Tokyo Cantat 2000 Festival . His choirs won first prizes in choir competitions in France , Italy , Austria and Germany . Busto has also been a member of the jury at composition and choir competitions in Spain , France, Italy and Japan .
