Javier Marchán

Javier Marchán (born November 15, 1967 in Barcelona ) is a Catalan conceptual artist who lives and works in Austria.

Javier Marchán studied fine arts and contemporary critical theory at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He received further training in art theory at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht.

Marchán first gained attention as an artist in 1996 with the group exhibition New Contemporaries at Tate Liverpool . Since 1997 his work has also been presented in solo exhibitions, for example in 2001 in the 2004 Museum for Applied Art , Vienna ( SoftSoftSoftSeries ).
