Javier Moctezuma Barragán

Javier Moctezuma Barragán (born August 15, 1953 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican ambassador .

Life

Javier Moctezuma Barragán studied law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho. He is a Masters in Comparative Law from Georgetown University . 1978 received his doctorate in law from UNAM on the subject of the Border Treaty with Belize . He is married to Luz María Mendoza Pesquera and they have four children.

He joined the foreign service in 1977. From 1978 to 1980 he served in the legal department of the embassy in Washington, DC . From 1973 to 1976 he was employed in the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores . From 1982 to 1986 he was employed in the office of the Federal President. From 1987 to 1988 he was employed in the Secretaría de Gobernación . From 1989 to 1992 employed the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Social Security of State Employees). From 1990 to 1992 he was the Comisión Jurídica Social des Consejo Interamericano de la Seguridad Social . In 1993 he headed the legal department and from 1939 to 1994 he was the head of the Secretaría de Energía, Minas e Industria Paraestatal . From 1994 to 2000 he was Deputy Head of Human Resources at the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social . From 2000 to 2003 he was Deputy Head of the Population, Migration and Religious Affairs Department in the Secretaría de Gobernación. From 2001 to 2003 he chaired the working group on migration issues of the OECD . From 2002 to 2003 he chaired the preparatory group for the Conferencia Regional sobre Migración .
