Jay Secka

Jay Secka (born 1980 ) is a former Gambian athlete.

Life

In 1997, 1999 and 2000 she won the Brufut Run . In 2001 she finished second behind Adama Manneh .

On April 16, 1999 she set a Gambian national record with 5: 03.56 min over 1500 meters in Bakau . This record was later beaten by Sona Saho , who ran this distance in 4: 45.3 minutes at the West Africa Championships in Conakry (Guinea) on May 12, 2017 .

In March 2001, she joined the Inter Schools Athletics for the Gambia Senior Secondary School and won the 1500 and 3000 meter runs. On May 12, 2001 she started at the International Solidarity Athletics in Bakau (Gambia). At the end of May 2002 she took part in this competition again.

In 2003 she started the Gigo's Marathon Run over 4 km for the Gambia Senior Secondary School and came second. In the same year she started again at the Inter Schools Athletics.
