The Jazzclub Rödermark eV was founded in 1979 and 40 years later is one of the jazz clubs in Germany with the largest number of members. It is located in a jazz cellar with a New Orleans atmosphere in the Offenbach district , in the Rödermark district of Ober-Roden . The unique and familiar atmosphere of the “real jazz cellar” is valued by musicians and audiences alike. In 2019 the jazz club received the award "four-star culture" from the Offenbach district.

The jazz club offers an extensive concert program from all classical jazz styles. The spectrum ranges from New Orleans jazz to Chicago jazz and Dixieland jazz to swing and mainstream . There is also boogie and blues as well as the music of the Sinti and Roma as well as a wide range of Latin American rhythms and Cajun music .

The jazz club has presented many prominent jazz musicians and jazz bands from Germany, Europe and the USA since 1979. Dizzy Gillespie , Wild Bill Davison , Ray Brown and Barrelhouse Jazzband can be found among the numerous famous musicians who toured Europe during this time and made guest appearances in Rödermark .

Promotion of young talent

Once or twice a year, the Rödermark jazz club offers newcomer bands an opportunity to show their skills in jazz, rock, pop and swing. In addition, the Jazzkeller offers a forum for jam sessions eleven times a year . B. young up-and-coming musicians can acquire the necessary jazz feeling in interaction with "old hands". These "After Hours Sessions" offer constructive interaction and have their own fan base. The jazz club received the Offenbach District Culture Prize for its work.
