Jean-Baptiste Tati Loutard

Jean-Baptiste Tati Loutard (born December 15, 1938 in Ngoyo , Kouilou , Republic of the Congo , † July 4, 2009 in Paris , France ) was a Congolese writer . He also held several offices, including that of Minister of Higher Education, and taught at Brazzaville University . Most recently he was Minister for Energy .

Life

Tati Loutard grew up in the Pointe-Noire area , where he attended school and graduated from high school. In 1961 he went to France, where he studied language and literature in Bordeaux . In 1966 he returned to the Congo and took up teaching at the university there in Brazzaville . He later became dean of the social science faculty there. His first books, Poemes de la mer and Les Racines congolaises were published in 1968. He later wrote a few more books, all in French . In 1977 he received the Prix ​​Simba , and in 1987 the Grand Prix littéraire de l'Afrique noire .
