The Grand Prix littéraire de l'Afrique noire (German: Great Literature Prize from Black Africa ), sometimes abbreviated GPLAN, is a literary prize awarded since 1961 , it replaced the Prix ​​coloniaux previously awarded .

The prize has been awarded by the ADELF ( Association des écrivains de langue française ) in Paris since 1961 for an original French-language text from sub-Saharan Africa and was initially endowed with 2,000 French francs . In 2004 the prize money was 10,000 euros.
