Jean-Claude Bonichot

Jean-Claude Bonichot (* 1955 ) is a French lawyer and judge at the European Court of Justice .

Bonichot studied law at the University of Metz , where he graduated. He then obtained his diploma from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris and graduated from the École nationale d'administration in Strasbourg. From 1982 Bonichot worked in various functions at the Conseil d'État , first as a reporter, later as a government commissioner and as a consultant, and from 1999 as a judge. In 2000 he became President of the Sixth Subdivision of the Disputes Division. Bonichot has been a judge at the European Court of Justice since October 7, 2006. In addition, he had been Assistant Professor at the University of Metz, from 2000 at the University of Paris I . He is also the author of numerous publications on French and European administrative law, Community law and European human rights protection.
