Jean-François Klein

Jean-François Klein (born March 8, 1961 in Colmar ; † April 25, 2018 ) was a Swiss civil engineer .

Klein studied at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne , where he also received his doctorate in civil engineering .

Klein worked for the engineering office of René Walther Walther Mory Maier Bauingenieure AG in Basel and from 1993 to 2007 at the engineering office Tremblet SA in Geneva , founded in 1970 (from 1995 as a partner), which was renamed T-ingénerie in 2007 .

His bridge constructions include the third Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul ( Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge , structural engineering with T-ingénerie) with Michel Virlogeux and the bridge over the Fontaine Gorge on Réunion .

In 2018 he received the Freyssinet Medal and in 1996 the Prix AFPC.
