Jean-François Pouliot

Jean-François Pouliot (born 1957 in Montreal , Province of Québec , Canada ) is a Canadian director .

life and work

Pouliot studied art, communication and philosophy at Concordia University in Montreal. He began with short films and as a camera assistant, for example in the tragic comedy Hotel New Hampshire (1984) by director Tony Richardson with Rob Lowe and Jodie Foster .

In around 15 years of work, Pouliot created around five hundred commercials and founded the software company Eloda for television advertising . The script by Ken Scott won him over and he made his first feature film - the comedy The Great Seduction (2003), which won various awards. Among other things, Pouliot won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004 . In 2004 he was nominated for the Genie Award to direct this film . This was followed in 2006 by a nomination for this prize for directing Guide de la petite vengeance .
