Jean-Louis Bourlanges (born July 13, 1946 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French politician and essayist.

Life and education

Jean-Louis Bourlanges graduated from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris in Paris in 1969. From 2002 he became a professor there himself. He also had a teaching position at Johns Hopkins University .

He is well known as an author in France. He is married and has one daughter.

Jean-Louis Bourlanges is Vice President of the UDF .

From 1983 to 1989 he was a member of the city council of Dieppe and the regional parliament of the region Haute-Normandie (1,986 to 1,998).

From 1989 to 2007 he was a member of the European Parliament . In 1989 he was on Simone Veil's list, Dominique Baudis' list in 1994 and François Bayrou's list in 1999 .

Jean-Louis Bourlanges has been a member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since 2019 .
