Jean-Marie Besset

Jean-Marie Besset (born November 22, 1959 in Carcassonne ) is a French playwright and screenwriter.

Besset grew up in Limoux and passed his Baccalauréat there. He graduated from the École supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales (ESSEC) in 1981 and from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (IEP) in 1984 . Besset wrote a number of plays and adapted a number of dramas from English. From his drama Grande École , Besset developed the script for the film Grande École , and he also co-wrote the scripts for The Proprietor and La Fille du RER .

Besset was nominated nine times for the Prix ​​Molière and received a Prix ​​du Syndicat de la critique for Ce qui arrive et ce qu'on attend and a Prix ​​SACD . Besset is Chevalier and Officier des Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and holder of the Prix ​​du Jeune Théâtre of the Académie française .
