Jean-Pierre Baillod (born August 20, 1771 in Songieu , Ain department , † March 1, 1853 in Valognes , Manche department ) was a French Général de division . On November 1, 1827 he was commissioned by King Charles X to général Lieutenant- appointed.

Life

Baillod was the son of Joseph Baillod and his wife Catherine Reydellet.

His military career began on September 20, 1793 after brief training when he joined the 11th Battalion de l'Ain .

Between 1805 and 1810 he served under General Saint-Hilaire in the Grande Armée . Since he had proven himself in various battles of the coalition wars, he was raised - in addition to military promotions - also the nobility ( Baron de l'Émpire ).

On January 28, 1812, Baillod married Nathalie Guyard and had a daughter and four sons with her. The marriage certificate was signed by Napoleon Bonaparte , who was the guest of honor .

In 1827, Baillod stood for election to the Chamber of Deputies and then also represented his region in Paris.

At the age of 81, Jean-Pierre Baillod died on March 1, 1853 in Valognes and found his final resting place in the cemetery of Saint-Germain-de-Tournebut ( Normandy ).
