Jean-Pierre Dick , nicknamed Jipé / JP (born October 8, 1965 in Nice , Côte d'Azur , France ) is a French ocean sailor and professional skipper. His most important successes were in offshore regattas for teams of two. One of his most outstanding achievements is the completion of the Vendée Globe 2012–2013 after losing the keel 2643 nautical miles from the finish in fourth place.

Dick is a veterinarian and a graduate of HEC Paris .

Appreciation

Jean-Pierre Dick was voted Sailor of the Year 2011 by the Fédération Française de voile . He is a knight of the Ordre national du Mérite .
