Jean Carzou
Jean Marie Carzou , actually Gaṙnik Harutyuni Zulumyan or Zouloumian (born January 1, 1907 in Aleppo , Ottoman Empire , † August 12, 2000 in Périgueux , Aquitaine ) was a French - Armenian painter .
He witnessed the deportation of the Armenians in 1915 and came to Cairo in 1919 . From 1925 to 1928 he studied architecture at the École Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris . During this time he changed his name to Jean Carzou , and later devoted himself entirely to painting.
