Jean Lugeon

Jean-Frédéric Lugeon (born August 4, 1898 in Chevilly , † February 21, 1976 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss meteorologist .

Life

Jean Lugeon studied civil engineering at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and received his degree in civil engineering in 1922 . In 1928 he received his doctorate from the ETH Zurich. Together with Guido Nobile, Lugeon constructed the " radiogoniograph for long-range location of thunderstorms and for exploring the ionosphere " and "developed new methods of weather forecasting". He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Warsaw .
