Jean-Parfait Friederichs

Jean-Parfait Friederichs (born June 11, 1773 in Montmartre , Paris , † October 20, 1813 near Leipzig ) was a French general de division of the infantry .

Life

Before the start of the revolution , Friederichs joined the royal army and made a career there very quickly. First he served in the Rhine Army and after further promotions he switched to the Guard Impériale .

There he was able to distinguish himself in the coalition wars and reached the high point of his career with the promotion to Général de division on September 23, 1812.

Under Marshal Louis-Nicolas Davout , he took part in Napoleon's Russian campaign and fought a. a. at Borodino (September 7, 1812) and at the Beresina (November 26-28, 1812).

When a new army was set up the following year, Friederichs came to the staff of Marshal Auguste Frédéric Louis Viesse de Marmont . He was seriously wounded in the battle near Möckern (April 5, 1813). In the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig (October 16/19, 1813) he was again seriously wounded and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital during the amputation of his leg.
