Jean Pierre Lanabère

Jean Pierre Lanabère , rarely Jean Pierre Lannabère (born December 24, 1770 in Salies-de-Béarn , † September 16, 1812 in Moshaisk ) was a French general de brigade of the infantry .

Life

Lanabère joined the royal army as a cadet and was soon able to distinguish himself through courage and bravery. He took part in the Revolutionary Wars and was also promoted very quickly.

Lanabère became a partisan of Napoleon early on, and Napoleon brought him to his staff on the occasion of the Russian campaign . On this campaign Lanabère led the Jeune Garde of the Garde impériale and was fatally wounded on September 7, 1812 in the Battle of Borodino . He died of complications from his injuries nine days later in the Mozhaisk hospital.
