Jean Pirro

Jean Pirro (* 1813 in Woustviller , † 1886 in Saint-Dizier ), also called M. Pirro and Jean M. Pirro , is the author of the planned language Universalglot . He was born in a German-speaking family in Lorraine and taught German and music in Saint-Dizier. In 1868 he presented his planned language in a book that appeared almost simultaneously in German ("An attempt at a universal language", Bar-le-Duc ) and French ("Langue Universelle", Paris ).

He is the father of the musicologist and organist André Pirro .
