Jean Roberts

Jean Roberts ( Jean Evelyn Roberts; born August 18, 1943 in Geelong ) is a former Australian discus thrower and shot putter .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games, she won silver in the shot put in Perth in 1962 . In 1966 in Kingston , she took silver in the discus throw and was fourth in the shot put.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, she came in 16th place in the discus throw.

In 1969 she won the discus throw at the Pacific Conference Games, in 1970 she won silver in the discus throw and bronze in the shot put at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh , and in 1974 she won bronze in the shot put at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and came fourth in the discus throw.

Eight times she was Australian champion in the shot put (1963-1970) and five times in discus (1965, 1967-1970). She was twice the English champion in the shot put (1971, 1972) and the US champion in the discus throw (1973, 1975).
