Jean Sahuquet

Jean Yves Marie Sahuquet (born November 18, 1923 in Nîmes , Gard department , France ; † December 7, 2006 ) was Bishop of Tarbes and Lourdes from 1988 to 1998 .

Life

Jean Sahuquet was ordained a priest on June 29, 1948. Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Utica and auxiliary bishop in Bayonne on December 11, 1978 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Bayonne, Jean Vincent , on February 25, 1979. On May 15, 1985 John Paul II called him coadjutor bishop in the diocese of Tarbes and Lourdes; from 1988 he headed this diocese. On January 16, 1998, his resignation for health reasons was accepted.
