Jean Verschneider (* 1872 in Lyon , France , † 1943 ) was a French sculptor .

Life

Monument made by Verschneider to the athletes who gave their lives for the French fatherland, located in the Parc de Saint-Cloud in Saint-Cloud , inaugurated in 1922.

Verschneider was a student of the sculptors Jacques Perrin and Jean-Antoine Injalbert . He exhibited at the salons of the Société des Artistes Français in Paris and became a member of the society in 1908. In 1909 he received an honorable mention here .

Arthur Goldscheider showed his bronze sculptures in the Art Deco style entitled Le Saut and Le leçon at the Salon of 1923. In 1925, Verschneider worked for the Goldscheider company and belonged to the artist groups La Stèle and L'Evolution , which Goldscheider had set up .
