Jean de Marguenat
Comte Jean Richard André de Marguenat (born May 2, 1893 in Paris ; † April 16, 1956 there ) was a French director , screenwriter and racing car driver .
Director and screenwriter
Jean de Marguenat worked in the French film industry in the 1930s and 1940s. His major productions included the 1937 film The Street Singer, starring Margaret Lockwood .
Career in motorsport
Jean de Marguenat was in the 1920s, three times as a works driver of Rolland-Pilain the 24-hour race at Le Mans at the start. In his debut race in 1923 , he drove a Rolland-Pilain B22 to 17th place overall. His partner was his compatriot Gaston Delalande . In 1924 he retired after driving 18 laps due to a technical defect. At his last start in this long-distance race in 1925 , he reached seventh place overall and remained victorious in the class of racing vehicles between 1.5 and 2 liter displacement.
