Gaston Delalande

Gaston Albert Eugene Delalande (born February 18, 1874 in Twickenham , † June 13, 1960 in Vouvray ) was a French racing driver of British descent.

Career in motorsport

Delalande competed in both sports car and monopostor races in the 1920s . At that time he was a works driver for the French automobile manufacturer Rolland-Pilain . In 1923 he competed for the team at the Italian Grand Prix . Starting the race from tenth on the grid, he dropped out after 30 laps. In 1925 he was sixth in a sports car race at the French Grand Prix .

He competed four times in the Le Mans 24-hour race . When the event debuted in 1923 , he and Jean de Marguenat were seventeenth overall on a Rolland-Pilain B22. He achieved his best placement in 1924 when he finished sixth. This time he drove the Rolland Pilain successor, the C23. His team partner in this race was Georges Guignard .
