Life

Fortunato trained dance and gymnastics for ten years . As a gymnast, she also took part in professional competitions. In 1982 she made her debut on the Yep label with the single Delirio as a singer. The following year she took part in the Sanremo Festival with the song Casco blu and reached the finals; the single was also a minor hit. In the same year she appeared for the first time as a television presenter and presented the Rai music show Discoteca Festival . In the 1980s, Fortunato was constantly on television, both as a presenter and as a guest on popular music programs. She took part in the Sanremo Festival five more times - with mixed success: 1984 (in the newly introduced newcomer category with Aspettami ogni sera ), 1986 (with Verso il 2000 ), 1987 (with Canto per te ), 1988 ( with Una bella canzone ) and 1992 (with Per niente al mondo , in a duet with Franco Fasano ).

Fortunato became known in German-speaking countries through her appearance on the ARD television program Musikladen in May 1984 with Aspettami ogni sera . In addition, her single Canto per te was used as a score in the satire film Man speaks deutsh (1988). In 1989 she made her first appearance on the Italian theater stage, alongside Lando Buzzanca in L'opera da tre soldi (Italian version of the Threepenny Opera ). In the 1990s she gave up music and initially concentrated on her theater and television career, but eventually withdrew entirely from show business into family life.
