Jeffrey Douglas "Jeff" Foster (born January 16, 1977 in San Antonio , Texas ) is a retired American basketball player .

NBA

Foster was selected after four years at Texas State University in the 1999 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors in 21st place and shortly thereafter transferred to the Indiana Pacers . Foster played for the Pacers for 13 years and ended his career there. He reached the NBA final with the Pacers in his rookie season. During his time in Indianapolis , he was considered a hardworking player who brought energy and rebounds . Between 2003 and 2006 he was also the starting center of the Pacers several times. His last years were marked by injuries, so that he was used less and less.

In 2012 he ended his career due to chronic back problems. In 764 games for the Pacers, Foster averaged 4.9 points and 6.9 rebounds.
