Jeffery Neill "Jeff" MacKay (born October 20, 1948 in Dallas , Texas , † August 22, 2008 in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) was an American actor who mainly starred in television series .

Life

Jeff MacKay, who was brought into acting by his cousin Robert Redford , is known to German-speaking audiences as a performer on the Magnum series. There he played the character of Lieutenant Mac Reynolds , called Mac , a close friend of Thomas Magnum , in a total of 22 episodes . For the adventure series The Sky Dogs of Boragora (1982-1983), in which he got a leading role, MacKay left at the beginning the third season the regular line-up of Magnum . When The Sky Hounds of Boragora was discontinued after just one season, he returned to Magnum at the beginning of the fifth season .

He was also on German-language television in the series Pazifikgeschwader 214 (1976-1978), Airwolf (1984-1986) and JAG - On behalf of the honor (1995-2005) to see. In JAG he played the character of Big Bud Roberts, as well as two other characters in individual episodes. During his acting career, MacKay was involved in a total of 31 productions. His last role was in the film drama December , which, however, only premiered after his death.

Jeff MacKay died of liver failure in Tulsa , Oklahoma , in 2008, at the age of 59 .
