Jeffrey Schoep (* 1974 in Montevideo ) is an American neo-Nazi and leader of the National Socialist Movement .

Life

In the fourth grade, Schoep said he read Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf . He attended high school in Clarkfield, Minnesota . At the age of 19 he joined the National Socialist American Workers Freedom Movement, a neo-Nazi group founded in 1974 in South St. Paul . The group was founded by activists of the American Nazi Party , active in the 1960s , Robert Brannen and Cliff Herrington. The organization came to be known as the American Nazi Party. Schoep came into conflict with the law several times in the 1990s, including because of traffic violations, bodily harm and aiding and abetting a break-in.

National Socialist Movement

In 1994 Schoep took over the "National Socialist American Workers Freedom Movement" and renamed it the "National Socialist Movement". He made contact with other groups, including the Ku Klux Klan , and created an "NSM Skinhead Division".

Under his leadership, the NSM grew and became one of the most active Nazi organizations in the United States. The supporters of the White Supremacist movement often criticized the NSM for its crude propaganda and preferences for Nazi devotional objects. According to the SPLC , Schoep's success was not only based on his person; In the early 2000s, the major organizations National Alliance and Aryan Nation as well as the World Church of the Creator (later Creativity Movement) lost influence because their leaders had died or were in custody.

Jeffery Schoep describes the NSM as a "white civil rights movement". In 2011 he said, according to Spiegel : "We are calling for the unification of all Aryans due to the peoples' right to self-determination to form a large empire." Also, only "Aryan national comrades ... citizens" are allowed to be. Schoep advocates spatial racial segregation in which each race should have "its own country". The “blacks” also had a right to such a land, and under no circumstances should the extermination of a race be advocated.

As leader or "commander" of the NSM, Schoep was in the TV documentaries 60 Minutes - The Murder of an American Nazi (Season 44, Episode 1) and Inside - American Nazis (Season 3, Episode 11) as well as the documentary film The Endangered See List by DL Hughley .
