Jelena Anatolyevna Tchaikovskaya
Jelena Anatoljewna Tschaikowskaja ( Russian Еле́на Анато́льевна Чайко́вская ; born December 30, 1939 in Moscow ) is a Russian figure skating coach .
Tchaikovskaya was born in Moscow in 1939 into a family of theater actors. As a child she was seen in various Soviet films alongside her father Anatoly Osipov. Her father took her to an ice rink because of health problems with her lungs. After finishing school, she attended the Russian Academy of Theater Arts . In 1957 she became a Soviet figure skating champion. Her trainer was Tatiana Tolmacheva , née Granatkina. In 1960 Tchaikovskaya ended her competitive career and became a choreographer and later also a figure skating coach. Since 1997 she has been the head coach of the Russian Olympic Committee. Since 2010 she has been working in the newly built Yantar Sports Center in Moscow together with her former student Vladimir Kotin. Tchaikovskaya wrote several books on figure skating.
