Elena Valeryevna Ovchinnikova
Jelena Valerjewna Ovtschinnikowa ( Russian Елена Валерьевна Овчинникова ; born July 17, 1982 in Moscow ) is a Russian synchronized swimmer .
Career
At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, Ovchinnikova and the Russian team won the gold medal in the team standings together with Anastassija Dawydowa , Anastassija Yermakova , Marija Gromowa , Natalja Ishchenko , Elwira Chassjanowa , Olga Kuschela , Swetlana Romaschina and Anna Schorina . In 2001 , 2003 , 2005 and 2007 the 173 cm tall Russian won the team competition at the world championships as well as at the 2002 and 2006 European championships .
For her successes Ovchinnikova was awarded the Order of Friendship and was named the Honored Master of Sports of Russia .
