Jen Psaki (2013)

Jennifer Rene Psaki (born December 1, 1978 in Stamford , Connecticut ) is an American press secretary .

She was a press secretary for the United States Department of State . She was the White House Communications Director from April 1, 2015 to January 20, 2017 . Her term of office ended with the inauguration of the new US President Donald Trump , who appointed Sean Spicer as Psaki's successor. Jen Psaki has been working as a political commentator ( contributor ) for CNN since February 2017 .

Private life

Psaki is of Greek and Polish descent. After graduating from high school in 1996, she graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2000 . She is a member of the Chi Omega student association . In college, she was on the swim team for two years.

In 2010, she married Gregory Mecher, assistant finance director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee .
