Jenia Grebennikov (born August 13, 1990 in Rennes ) is a French volleyball player .

Career

Grebennikov began his career in 1999 in the Rennes Volley 35 youth team. In 2008 he joined the club's first team. His father, Russian-born Boris Grebennikov, worked there as a trainer. In 2011, the Libero took part with the French national team in the European Championship , in which the French were defeated in the quarter-finals by the eventual European champions Serbia and finished in seventh place. In 2012 Grebennikov won the national cup with Rennes. In 2013 he left his hometown and moved to the German Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen . At the World Cup in Poland , Grebennikov finished fourth with the national team in 2014 and was named “Best Libero”. In 2015 he won the DVV Cup with the Häflern and became German champion . He then moved to Cucine Lube Civitanova . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Grebennikov retired with the national team after the preliminary round.
