Robin Holt

Robin Holt (* 1966 ) is a social scientist at the University of Liverpool . Holt also holds visiting professorships at Copenhagen Business School (2013) and the Swedish Business School (Hanken School of Economics, 2012).

Career

Robin Holt received a PhD in Government Studies from the London School of Economics , after which he worked in law firms, in politics and in the administrative departments of various universities.

After academic careers at the University of Southampton , University of Bath , Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Leeds , Holt received a full professorship at the University of Liverpool.

Research interests

According to his own statements, Holt is interested in organizational theory in general and in process philosophy , such as that represented by Holt's temporary co-author Robert Chia . In this context, Holt also relies on philosophical sources such as Virginia Woolf , Henri Bergson , Heraklit or Friedrich Nietzsche . In addition, Holt deals with entrepreneurial strategy, the art of John Ruskin and his ideas for artistic creation. Holt also works on ethics and judgment, as well as historical perspectives on business activity in the economy. Finally, Holt also examines the language and the meanings given to words such as “values, production, good, work and wealth” in economics. For example, Holt is also investigating sensemaking , 40 years after Karl E. Weick dealt with the subject.

In addition to his academic career, Holt is working with Frank den Hond in the successor to David Courpasson as one of two editors-in-chief for the renowned journal Organization Studies and is a board member of the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS). In addition, Holt has been working as an editorial member of the Management Learning Journal since 2009 .

Honors

In 2011, the Hanken School honored Holt with a Senior Research Fellowship.
