Jennen (Dornbirn)
Jennen is a group in the extreme northeastern municipality of the Austrian city of Dornbirn , in the state of Vorarlberg . Jennen belongs to the oldest Dornbirn settlement area.
Origin of name
In 1431 a "Henni zum Bühel" is historically documented. Like Jenni, Henni is a form in Walser for Johann . The influence of migrated Walser people in Dornbirn has been documented several times during this time.

Jennen is part of the Haselstauden district in the northeast of the Dornbirner settlement area at about 670 m above sea level. A. am Achrain and is about 4 km as the crow flies from the city center of Dornbirn.

Population and development
In 1857, 26 of the then almost 1,000 Haselstauder in Jennen (2.6%) lived in five houses. Current population figures are no longer published. Today there are more than 10 residential buildings.
The Roman Catholic chapel Maria Hilf is in Jennen .

Jennen has a connection to the Dornbirn and Bregenzerwald transport network through the L49 - Achrainstraße , also known as “Wälderstraße” . The nearby Achrain Ebene stop is served by public transport (omnibus).
Waters
A source of the Rothenbach rises between Jennen and Hauat and flows into the Schwarzach . The Schwarzach in turn forms part of the border between Dornbirn and Bildstein or Schwarzach .
