Jens-Peter Heuer

Jens-Peter Heuer (born June 10, 1955 in Berlin ) is a German political official ( Die Linke ). From 2008 to 2011 he was State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Women.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1973 in Halle , Heuer studied philosophy in Rostov-on-Don in what was then the USSR . In 1978 he returned to the GDR and became an assistant to the management of VEB Kali-Chemie in Berlin-Treptow . From 1982 onwards, Heuer completed his traineeship at the Academy for Social Sciences , in 1986 he completed his doctorate. phil. from. Until November 1989 he worked as party secretary in the VEB Kombinat Lacke und Farben in Treptow.

After his work as district chairman in Berlin-Treptow, Heuer became an employee of the PDS parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives , where he was responsible for budgetary matters. From 1996 he took over political offices as district councilor and later state secretary.

This year, 1975 joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). Later he belonged to the successor party PDS , now he is a member of the party Die Linke. He took on various leadership positions within the party, from December 1989 to February 1991 he was district chairman in Berlin-Treptow.

From 1990 to 1996 Heuer was a member of the district assembly of Berlin-Treptow and temporarily led the PDS parliamentary group there. From 1996 to 2000 he was Deputy District Mayor and City Councilor for Finance and Economics in the Central District Office of Berlin. In the district office of the merged district of Mitte , he then headed the youth and finance department until his appointment as State Secretary.

From January 15, 2008, Heuer was the successor to Volkmar Strauch State Secretary in the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Women led by Harald Wolf . After the change of government following the 2011 parliamentary elections , Heuer was put into temporary retirement on December 20, 2011.
