Jens-Peter Kurzwelly

Jens-Peter Kurzwelly (born June 11, 1944 in Elmshorn ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

Jens-Peter Kurzwelly passed the Grand State Examination in 1974 and then worked as a research assistant at the University of Bonn . In 1978 he began his career as a judge by joining the judicial service in North Rhine-Westphalia . He was initially a judge at the Bonn Regional Court and the Euskirchen District Court . In 1979 he was appointed judge at the regional court in Bonn. From 1986 to 1990 he was seconded as a research assistant to the Federal Court of Justice; during this secondment, he was appointed judge at the Cologne Higher Regional Court in 1989 , where he also worked after the secondment. In 1993 he was at the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court seconded and finally in 1995 also added .

In 1996 Kurzwelly was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and assigned to the 2nd Civil Senate of the Federal Court of Justice . He should be a member of this civil senate until he retires on July 1, 2009. He was also a member of the Senate for Notary Matters from 1997 to 2003. In 2005 he became deputy chairman of the second civil senate and represented his senate in the joint senate of the highest federal courts . During his time at the Federal Court of Justice, Kurzwelly primarily dealt with company law and wrote numerous guiding principle decisions , in particular on company law , such as compensation and severance pay in company law, the right to information of shareholders, authorized capital or liability in factual groups . He also wrote judgments on capital market law (for example on incorrect ad hoc notifications or on the Securities Acquisition and Takeover Act ), on the law of the GmbH and on liability for the destruction of existence.
