Jens Bingert

Jens Bingert (* 1971 in Kusel ) is a German conductor and choir director .

Bingert was born in Kusel in Rhineland-Palatinate . After leaving school, he studied Protestant church music at the Academy of Music in Cologne . He then went on to study choral conducting with Ralf Otto and orchestral conducting with Professor David de Villiers at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen .

He first worked as a church musician and has already directed many concerts. From 2000 to 2007 he worked as a solo coach at the Cologne Opera and conducted operas himself. He then moved to his home country and was choir director and conductor at the Stadttheater Trier for two years . In 2009 he moved to the Wuppertaler Bühnen as choir director. During this time he also had a teaching assignment for vocal accompaniment at the branch of the Cologne University of Music and Dance in Wuppertal . Since 2016 he has been the choir director at the Aalto Theater in Essen.
