Jens Boden (born August 29, 1978 in Dresden ) is a former German speed skater .

He became German champion over 5000 meters in 2002 and won the bronze medal at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City ( Utah Olympic Oval ).

For this he was awarded the silver bay leaf on May 6, 2002.

Jens Boden was chief sergeant in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Berlin .

He started for his home club Eislauf-Verein Dresden e. V. (until 2001 ESC Dresden ), even if he trained primarily in Berlin since May 2006 as part of the restructuring of the men's national team.

On March 9, 2007, Jens Boden announced his retirement on the sidelines of the individual distance world championships - on the grounds that he wanted to take more care of his family and the studies he had started in autumn 2007.
