Jens Buhrmester (born September 10, 1971 ) is a former German handball player . The goalkeeper played for TSV GWD Minden and TuS N-Lübbecke in the Bundesliga .

Career

Buhrmester played in his youth for the TV Sachsenroß Hille and initially also for the first team in the regional league. In 1991, he was relegated to the league. In 1992 he moved to the second division TSV GWD Minden. After the 1994/95 season , he rose to the Bundesliga with Minden. However, GWD committed after the Bosman ruling in December 1995 with the Croatian Vlado Šola another goalkeeper. Behind Chrischa Hannawald and Šola Buhrmester got no more playing time and moved to VfL Eintracht Hagen after the season . After a year he joined TSG Bielefeld . He stayed four years and then went to TuS N-Lübbecke , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga for the second time. However, this was followed by direct descent and Buhrmester switched to the upper division HSG Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald . In 2006 the club rose to the regional league. In 2008 he ended his career, but one season later he celebrated a comeback with his home club TV Sachsenroß Hille. At the end he played for another year in the third team of LiT Handball Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald.

In his 20 years in the senior division, Buhrmester played two seasons in the Bundesliga, nine in the 2nd Bundesliga, three in the Regionalliga, four in the Oberliga, one in the Association League and one in the District League.

Private

His nephew Björn is also a handball goalkeeper and currently plays for HSG Nordhorn-Lingen in the 2nd Bundesliga .
