Jens Grembowietz (born February 2, 1987 in Essen ) is a former German soccer player . His preferred position is central defense.
Career
Grembowietz began his career at DJK Arminia Ückendorf . From 1996 to 2006 he played for the youth teams of FC Schalke 04 and became German champion in 2006 with the Schalke U-19 together with today's national players Mesut Özil and Benedikt Höwedes . From 2006 to 2008 played for the club's second team. For the 2008/09 season he moved to Dynamo Dresden and signed a two-year contract. After a season the contract was canceled and he moved to Prussia Münster . From the 2010/11 season he played for the southern regional division KSV Hessen Kassel ; in the summer of 2011 he extended his originally signed one-year contract for another year. After a groin operation in April 2012, his contract was not renewed.
In January 2013, Grembowietz signed a contract dated June 30, 2013 with the Westphalian league club SG Wattenscheid 09 . Although he is a trained central defender, he was a regular in the second half of the defensive midfield. On June 5, 2013, he rose to the Regionalliga West with SG Wattenscheid 09. His contract ran until 2014. For the 2014/15 season he moved to Hammer SpVg on a free transfer and left the club again after a season in the Oberliga Westfalen . He then went to Westfalia Herne for a year , but did not play a game in the Westphalia League.
Grembowietz has been working as a real estate agent in his mother's company in Gelsenkirchen since 2014 .
